Let's face it, car shopping isn't high on many people's list of "things I love doing."  Or, more importantly, it's not high on MY list. After finally making the decision to buy another vehicle and setting out on a mission to do just that, I searched endlessly through websites... upon websites looking for what I wanted.  Long story short, I found a car I was interested in noticed that it was "newly listed" online that day.  I took the chance and headed down to Scott Volkswagen early Saturday morning just as they opened and lucky me, they had the car. I was also lucky enough to work with salesman, Jorge Ochoa who was pleasant, kind, knowledgable and not the least bit pushy.  Jorge pulled the car up front and we went for a test drive.  I told him my current financial situation and why I was looking for a used vs. new car, etc., and not ONCE did he try to push a vehicle on me that he knew I couldn't afford. The vehicle and I fell in love with each other, so I decided to make the commitment and purchase it.  The entire process was seamless; Jorge was patient with me and answered all of my questions.  Today when I picked up the vehicle, he was excited for me and that meant everything.  He was happy that I was happy; or least I'd like to think that he was.  I haven't owned the vehicle for 24 hours as of yet, so hopefully this will be my one and only review for Scott Volkswagen and Jorge Ochoa, unless I end up purchasing another vehicle from them which is HIGHLY likely. If you're looking to be treated like a person by a car salesman who isn't sleazy and only looking out for himself, you NEED to go see Jorge at Scott VW; you won't be disappointed with your experience. After a year of working with these guys, I have to say I am pretty pleased. The Customer Service Department is always super-friendly, and the waiting area amenities are pretty sweet (who doesn't love a little free wifi?). I love my VW. I really, really do. Unfortunately, it's prone to fussin...ess thanks to a careless previous owner, so we've hit a few annoying bumps on an otherwise lovely and enjoyable road together. Thanks to Scott VW, those bumps have been cushioned and relatively quick to fix. The mechanics are thorough and careful -- I really appreciate that they take the time to diagnose and treat issues cautiously before charging you the big bucks for an overhaul. They really will go the most cost effective route first before delving into the pricier options. The lot is always clean, the staff is always courteous and while the location is a bit tricky to get to and leave from, it's pretty convenience to Providence. All in all, I am happy with these guys, and when it comes time to replace my other car, we'll likely get a VW from Scott to replace it. Show more

I'm on my third volkswagen lease, so I'm not exactly in need of a hard sell.  That said, I've been really happy with Scott, both for securing that magical third lease, and for the oil change/standard service job they did on lease #2 before #3 was signed, sealed, and delivered.Chris A. w...as my sales consultant and he was refreshing...he didn't get stuck in that "I-am-a-salesman-so-I-have-no-other-abilities-to-carry-on-normal-conversation" thing.  Yes, he told us about the features of the car, suggested a test drive, pointed out the safety features, yada yada, but he also made time to ask me about myself and actually listen to the answer.  He didn't fake-flatter the whole time (I hate when sales dudes tell me I'd look so great in something as if I don't know they say that to everyone).  The time from "deal" to "sign here" was a little long (they could use some healthy snacks in the kitchen area in the case of a wait), but not terribly annoying.  There is a handy-dandy Keurig and a water cooler which is better than nothin'.  And the sales floor is clean and airy so it's not too hard on the psyche. As for the service department, the intake guys were a tad on the chilly side (it's okay to smile and say words besides "fuel tank"), but they also didn't b.s. me, didn't try to tell me something was wrong with the car when it wasn't, and the oil change was done pretty quickly.  You're in, you're out, and the car is rinsed off nice and clean.  That's what I'm looking for...trust, affordability, and good work.  Thankfully, Scott VW doesn't seem to think this is too much to ask. The service and repairs guys are SUPER nice!!  Having a VW can be a bit of a pain in the butt since nobody else will touch it, but I don't mind having to drive to Scott's. They have a waiting area with free wifi, so I can continue to do my work, or just watch TV.  The lady that answers the...ir phone is sweet as well.   The lady who answers the phone for the East Greenwich/Warwick Volkswagon dealership and service line is rude.  Stick with Scotts! The only reason they receive 4 stars is because the salesman kept bothering me while I was waiting to have my light replaced.  He came by three times, told me I should upgrade to a 2011, yada yada yada.  I gave him the "please leave me alone" vibe as much as I possibly could, and he insisted on giving me his card.  I will mention next time that salesmen should lay off the people in the service waiting area, or to at least leave them alone after you ask them the first time. Kevin was very knowledgeable in the safety aspects of the car and wanted the customer to know that they would be safe in a VW. The whole dealership came together to make sure my car was ready for me. Despite set backs, the whole dealership apologized for any errors that were made and in the end I ...was able to get my car and it is everything I wanted. I would send friends to Scott VW. Show more
